Laura Gentry, the Social Communication/Instructor for The Point/Arc Zembrodt Education Center, brought a little bit of Hollywood to her students.

The stands erupted in cheers every time the Covington Catholic Colonels scored at Tuesday’s game against Highlands High School. But the biggest cheers were reserved for a young man who is not even on the basketball team.

The Point/Arc has gone international. And the non-profit organization which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, never had to leave its Covington-based home – thanks to the World Affairs Council of Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.

Steve Roark is adding the pounds – and he loves every single one. Roark is the General Manager of The Point/Arc Commercial Laundry Service and he says he’s seen close to 516,581 pounds in growth this year alone.

Wishes do come true. And, thanks to Whiskey and Wishes – a Northern Kentucky-based collective giving group — The Point/Arc’s Zembrodt Education Center has been awarded a $25,000 grant.

The Amazon Job Fair for people with disabilities is scheduled for Wednesday, June 22 from noon to 4 p.m.

In celebration of the organization’s 50th anniversary, Covington Mayor Joseph Meyer has declared Monday, June 6 as Point/Arc Day.
